The Joy of Motherhood.

Image
Love this.  So much. "Recognize that the joy of motherhood comes in moments. There will be hard times and frustrating times but amid the challenges there are shining moments of joy and satisfaction." - Elder M. Russel Ballard "I wish I had treasured the doing a little more and the getting it done a little less." - Anna Quindland You can read more about my beliefs here  and listen to more inspiring messages this coming weekend here .

Spring My Rear.

Image
The only way I will forgive is if this kills off all the spiders .  However, I have a feeling that all it is doing is encouraging the spiders to come inside my house.  Alls I can say is that it's a good thing my boys are still sick so we have to stay in anyway.  Otherwise I would probably be very upset and throw a royal tantrum on my kitchen floor feet kicking, arms wailing... the whole bit. p.s. I won this for Tiny Man's room!  thanks Dee-Dee .  you rock. p.p.s. don't forget to enter to win one of my premade blogger templates .  winner announced tomorrow.

PB and Chocolate Lovers Only

Image
As you know by now most of my favorite recipes come from my mom.  This one actually came from my grandma who gave it to my mom who then introduced it to me the last time I was down there visiting.  I guess the love of peanut butter and chocolate runs in the family.  I have already made these brownies twice since the first introduction (only a few weeks ago).  They are seriously good.  No really I mean it, they don't mess around when it comes to being awesome. Consider this a fair warning: you will want to eat the entire pan.  It's true.  So, if you have zero self control (like myself) share them with your friends and neighbors.  Or don't.  But just know that I warned you.  It's truly a dangerous recipe for me to have.  In sharing this recipe I only ask one thing.  That is if you do make them please don't hesitate to send some my way! Enjoy. Peanut Butter Cup Crunch Brownie Bars Ingredients: 1 batch of your favorite b...

Sickies and A Giveaway

I've got a bunch of sickies in my house tonight. I can't complain, seeing how it is the first time Tiny Man has been sick, and the first time in a while that Little Guy has been.  That is pretty good seeing how it is flu/cold season around here.  It helped keeping them sheltered for so long.  I blew it by taking them to church last Sunday.  By Wednesday they were both coming down with something.  Funny how Wednesday is always the day we get sick if we get it from church. Anyway , I have been wiping noses, giving cuddles and attempting to get my boys back to good health leaving no time to get some more new designs posted like I sort of half promised .  (How was that for a run on sentence?)  Because of this, I decided to apologize with a giveaway.  If you are a Facebook user, go to Simply Yours Designs' Facebook page and "Like" it!  Then read the latest wall post for instructions on how to enter.  It's super easy and will only take ...

Arachnophobia

Image
{ poster } I am an arachnophobe.  It's true.  I always have been.  Growing up, my nightmares always seemed to involve either a ginormous spider or thousands of spiders marching towards me in army formation, both causing me to wake up from hyperventilation.  I seriously can't stand the eight legged creatures.  In fact, it is hard for me to even be writing about this subject.  I have goosebumps and the willies already.  The problem with me being an arachnophobe now that I have two boys is that I can no longer show that fear publicly.  I don't want them being the pansy boys who grow up being afraid of spiders.  Boys and men are supposed to be fearless when it comes to creepy crawlies.  They are the ones in charge of killing, smashing and completely obliterating them so that they will no longer torment us ladies.  Am I right??  Well, I was put to the test yesterday and I'm afraid I may have failed miserably. There we were i...

New Designs and Stuff.

Image
Phew.  It's Monday again.  How come weekends always seem to just fly by?  We had a wonderful weekend and spent a lot of time together as a family.  Those are always my favorite.  I don't mind Monday's so much.  It means it's family home evening  and I always get a kick out of Little Guy's excitement for it. I had some time to design a couple new blog designs for the shop this weekend and thought I'd share them seeing how some of you newbies don't even know that I design blogs .  The plan is to add more to the shop before the week is over but we'll see if that actually happens.  I'm loving kissing Tiny Man's cheeks and making him giggle a little too much.  So if I have any spare time between tickle sessions with him and hilarious conversations with Little Guy, I'll get some more added.  If not, these two will just have to do!  { Bunting's All the Rage can be purchased here .} { ModBlog can be purchased here .}...

Flipped.

Image
Have you seen Flipped yet?  If not, run don't walk to your nearest redbox and watch it this weekend.  It is one of those films that makes you want to be a better person after watching it.  I haven't been able to stop thinking about it ever since I watched it two weeks ago.  The soundtrack, wardrobe and actors work together to make this film magical.  It has quickly become one of my all time favorites.

Vegas, Baby!

Image
So here's the deal.  The hubs informed me a month or two ago that he had been asked to help out with his company's Spanish convention (he learned to speak the language while he was serving a mission for our church in Colombia).  It just so happened that this convention was taking place in viva Las Vegas baby, which worked out nicely because my parents live just a couple hours away.  The plan was to travel together as a family, have Jer drop us off in St. George and carry on down to Vegas for his convention.  And that's just what we did.  It worked out wonderfully seeing how I didn't have to be alone with the boys for one week in the frozen tundra of Idaho. My mom (being the amazing mom and grandma that she is) told me to go meet up with Jer one day when he had some free time.  She watched my boys, woke up with Tiny Man all through the night, let me borrow her cute clothes and even let me drive her car to Vegas.  Seriously?  She is the best. ...

Things learned.

:: St. George is gorgeous.  I could live here. :: having four extra sets of hands to help with kiddos is awesome. :: a $40 bicycle from Target will provide hours of entertainment for a three year old who is dying to enjoy the nice sunny weather. :: Krave advertises that their frozen yogurt is "healthy" the thing they don't happen to mention is that you cover that "healthy" frozen yogurt with peanut butter cups, chocolate fudge, cookie dough bites, cheesecake bites, etc. which I am certain are not healthy... therefore defeating the purpose of getting frozen yogurt. :: Benja's still has the best Thai food you can find in the whole world (except for maybe Thailand). :: a one day/night getaway to a rendezvous with the hubs who is at a work convention can be just what this tired mama needed. even if it was in Vegas (my first time there and I was not a fan. more on that later). :: a baby can grow and change over night. literally. :: your mom and teenage sis...
