This explains a lot...

like why I'm sick every evening after 6 o'clock. or why I go from content to starving in no more than 30 seconds. or why I can't sleep at night. or why I've gained 3 lbs in one month. or why I have crazy insane dreams that seem like real life. or why I had to talk myself out of going to McDonalds, KFC, Wendy's, Taco Bell, and Sonic this morning... places I normally don't go. or why I can't bring myself to eating anything I make. or why I am exhausted all day (and night). or why I get excited whenever I see little bitty baby things. I decided that since I am starting to show a lot earlier with this pregnancy, I would tell everyone two weeks earlier than planned. We are very excited for our new little addition, and will be working hard these next 6 months (or so) to prepare for another little one to join our family!

New York Burrito

Image
We went to our favorite little town on Saturday for a spur of the moment family date full of food, splash park, and a carousel ride. While there, we went to one of my favorite restaurants... New York Burrito. I got the Thai Chicken on a Jalapeno Cheddar tortilla. I have been wanting another one ever since. If only it wasn't such a long drive to my favorite little burrito place.

unexpected joy

Wednesday night, the hubs and I went out to dinner to celebrate our 4 year anniversary. Being in an area where there are ZERO teenagers (or even preteens) we couldn't find a babysitter and decided to bring Little Guy along with us. Our biggest mistake was the restaurant that we chose. It was a pretty pricey place and we soon found out they didn't have a kids menu. They weren't prepared for children and had to scrounge up some crayons and a coloring page for Little Guy. We could tell all the employees thought we were idiots for bringing a child to their restaurant but they cooperated and provided LG with some garlic mashed potatoes, which he ended up devouring before my husband and I had a chance to eat our salads. This meant that the remainder of the night was spent taking turns eating and chasing Little Guy around outside the restaurant. How romantic. After boxing up our dinner (which was cut short due to an impatient toddler), we walked across the street over to the...

Little Miss Organizer

Image
I have never been an organizer. I don't know how that happened seeing how I come from two excellent organizers. Maybe it's because they were always organized for me so I never had to be? Who knows. The last time I had a planner was the first time I ever had a planner. It was during my first semester of college where I had high hopes to write down when assignments were due, tests were to be taken, and hot dates were to be gone on. It lasted for about 3 weeks tops. It's pretty sad and pathetic really. I often forget birthdays, weddings, anniversaries, meetings, etc. and I am tired of being the girl that is always apologizing! So, I have made a resolution (without it even being New Years!) to be more organized. I decided that the first step would be to buy a cute little planner that I could carry with me everywhere I went. Off to Target I went, and bought this cute little number (see above). Now I just have to fill it up with things to remember. Wish me luck, yay fo...

Zucchini Chocolate Cake

Image
Hello friends. You are my friends, and that is why I have decided to share a favorite recipe of mine with you. It is a zucchini chocolate cake... and it is so deliciously moist. It will give you an excuse to use up all that zucchini you have that is taking over your garden, and enjoy it while you're at it! A piece of this cake is like a small piece of heaven. Zucchini Chocolate Cake 1 cup vegetable oil 2 cups sugar 3 eggs 2 1/2 cups flour 1/2 teaspoon salt 1 teaspoon baking soda 1/2 teaspoon baking powder 1/2 cup milk 3 (1 oz) squares unsweetened baking chocolate 1 tablespoon vanilla 2 cups grated zucchini 1 recipe Chocolate Butter Frosting In a large bowl combing oil, sugar, and eggs. In a separate bowl sift dry ingredients; add to first mixture. Add milk and mix well. Melt baking chocolate in the microwave for 20-second intervals, until just melted. Blend chocolate and vanilla into batter. Stir in zucchini. Bake in greased 9x13-inch baking dish at 350*F. for about 25 minu...

Summer Dinner

Image
Go ahead, judge me. Tell me how bad they are for me. Tell me that you watched a show once and saw how they were made so now you can't ever look at them (let alone eat them) again. I saw that show too. I just try not to think about it when I am devouring my summer hot dog. Because after all, summer isn't summer without having at least one grilled dog. (We won't mention the fact that I ate two of those bad boys.)
